Latest Image of our Liposomes Using TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy)

Updated: Aug 1, 2018

When it comes to determining whether or not a liposomal vitamin or supplement product is actually made with real liposomes, we advise folks to ask to see the proof. The proof is in the pudding right…or rather in the size of the liposomes. To be more specific, for oral ingestion, the size of the liposomes in a formulation is extremely important and having appropriately sized liposomes (200 nanometers or smaller) comprising the vast majority of your formulation will tell you whether or not the encapsulated vitamins or supplements are going to have the expected high rates of bioavailability and absorption that you expect.

So...we asked the nice folks at the Mississippi Polymer Institute at the University of Southern Mississippi to take some pictures of our liposomes so we could share them with others and show them what we know to be true....Nutrient Tree liposomal products are Genuine Liposomal Formulations. Looking at the picture below, you can see that most of the liposomes are around 200 nanometers or smaller. Also, if you look close enough you can even see the unilamellar structure of the liposomes. Cool right!

Note the larger "blurry whites' globs. These are liposomes that are not within the field of focus for the TEM image. Although they are out of focus and appear larger, they are all still around 200 nanometers or less in size.
